Where are you from?

August 18, 2007 by Lloyd 4 Comments

hmmm, can't seem to find Seward.

So this guy setup a webpage where you say what region, state, city (and so forth) of the country you most identify with and he turned that data into maps. I like maps of all sorts anyway, so I thought this was interesting. In addition to maps of regions, he also does maps of MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL and NCAA teams.

Dreaming of winter

August 14, 2007 by Lauren 2 Comments

I can’t wait for cold weather. I’m hot and sticky – and that’s in the air conditioning! I know I’ll complain about the cold when it comes, but for now I can dream about turning down the thermostat, being chilly, and saving money on heating bills. (Remember those days?)

I bought some new gadgets to battle the bills. I ordered two mattress warming pads that just go on the foot of the bed under the bottom sheet. They just warm your feet! I’ll never get out of bed! I bought one for our bed and one for Brad’s. (It was so sad when he visited at Christmas and had cold feet. Poor Brad.) These are from www.cozywinters.com. I’d try them out tonight, but even I know that would be crazy.

Where’s that freak blizzard when you need it?

For the Mat Gallery

August 5, 2007 by Lauren 4 Comments

This was an experiment during one of my busy nights – individual fried bacon mats. They cooked quickly (about five minutes) but fell apart on the third flip. Nothing like trying to re-weave hot bacon as it fries. Plus they weren’t as nice and flat as baked bacon. Mission accomplished, though. Next time I might try microwaving, but I’m sure the texture would suffer.

Raw.

Cooked and tragic

I wrote this post before Peggy sent me some fantastic pictures!  Hopefully this week I’ll get the gallery started, but I gotta tell you – Peggy will win all the prizes.

No more Found…

July 28, 2007 by Lloyd 2 Comments

Well, it turns out that I don’t like the found category going off into a seperate sidebar. So I’m going to throw all of that stuff back into the normal mix and get rid of it. It should appear below this post (if I’m lucky), so you might scroll down and see a few shorter posts that you haven’t seen before (and 2 longer ones).
