Our Saturday was spent with the Royuks and Pesters, and it was a very fine day. Brad and Beth did some surprise yardwork for their mom (I won’t spoil their telling of the story, though), then Harold and Beth did some yard work at their house, and then their Mom & Dad made a delicious dinner for all. Lloyd was around for these activities, but we made sure he kept his heart rate down. The most work we allowed him to do was push Tara on the swing, which he did well. All in all – a fine, fine day!

Surprise!!
First of all – Happy Birthday, Phil!!!! And to the Gebhardts, Happy Cinco de Mayo!Â
We heard from a little birdie that our gardener would be making a surprise visit! He’s here! We even cleaned his room! Brad’s here for his niece’s confirmation on Sunday and, of course, to check on our garden.Â
Lloyd fell asleep early, so he missed Brad’s arrival around 11 p.m.  Brad said, “Dang it. Oh, well, it’s for the best. I wanted to sneak in in the middle of the night and just be here when you woke up.” Yeah, that would have been funny, except for the part where I would have stabbed the stranger sneaking around our house in the night because I was afraid to wake up Lloyd and raise his heart rate. Yeah, would have been funny.
Welcome, Brad! Thanks for bringing the thunderstorms.
Wait for it….
WordPress, the people who put this blog stuff together, was down last night, so I couldn’t make a post. Tomorrow’s post should be awesome. In the meantime, share with us a kareoke (sp?) song that you would be willing to sing, and under which circumstances.
Cyber Classroom 3000
This isn’t really high-tech or anything; real high-tech classrooms have all this stuff built in. I, on the other hand, had to cobble stuff together from various and sundry parts of school to create the Cyber Classroom 3000 (hence forth the CC3k). With the CC3k I don’t have to stand up and walk back and forth across the front of the classroom, pretending to put useful information on the board for seventh graders. I can do it all from the comfort of a soft cushiony chair.
As an added bonus, the data visualizer ($3000 retail, $250 on ebay) has a 20x zoom on it, so I can have student stand in the front of the room and run them through with a pencil that is magically the size of a lance.
Tears from heaven
My whole life all I ever wanted was a teardrop trailer. The Trailer Fairy told me that if I was good enough, smart enough, and pretty enough, I could have one. I ain’t got one yet.
Teardrop trailers are impossibly tiny. They are just big enough inside for a mattress, a cupboard for your underwear, and six hours’ worth of air. These things have plagued me on HGTV, driving by on trailers, and in my dreams. I’ve only known them from theory and the internet. But on Saturday, driving back from Columbus, they actually had one!!! Actually, they had two – one was inside the little car/trailer store. I had to take pictures, of course! The camper inside the building had a beer tap, definitely the one we need, don’t you think? Please, Trailer Fairy, please!!
