Happy Birthday, Tim!

A year ago today, Beth gave birth to Tim and the Pester family grew a little. Beth once remarked, “Would you please do one of those that will makes Tim’s first year of life fly by in a minute and a half?”  I gave it my best shot, but it’s actually closer to two minutes and a half.  Thanks, sneaky Uncle Brad for helping to take photos.  Hee hee.

Gutter & Chimneys

It was a fairly productive day. I got a few things done, and Lloyd – well, Lloyd was on fire today! He cleaned the gutters and figured out how that bird got in our house. I felt the need to tell the story through a movie, as is my way. Enjoy, and happy Sunday.

Happy Birthday, Brad!

Ahem. Take two. When I told Lloyd that tomorrow (today, when you’re reading this, but I actually said it two nights ago) is Brad’s birthday, his first reaction was, “Dang. That means I missed Sam and Brittney’s birthdays.” So, Sam & Brittney – Happy Belated from (Crazy Uncle) Lloyd. He’s too lazy to say it himself.

No Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink was harmed during the making of this film. After filming, though, it was sucked mercilessly into the vacuum cleaner and died a horrible death.I think that one thing is a Shrek-head, though I didn’t mean it to be one. I’ve never done this before, ok? And how come I don’t own a tripod? You people would be a lot less seasick if I had a tripod. And you have to admit – it’s the best rockin’ birthday song that you don’t have to pay Paul McCartney royalties for!

So, I have a minor problem with being short-term-obsessive about certain things – ukuleles, bread, cheap sources of heat. Eventually I calm down, but it takes a while. Right now the obsession is with making movies. After the last movie, Peggy’s comment was this:

Again, another great video!! I too think you’ve missed your real calling. And although normal stinks, I think if you set normal to the right music, normal would rock. Give it a try will ya?

Not that I think my movies are so great, but as soon as I read that I knew just the song.

Back to Normal

Well, Brad’s gone again. That means the heat is turned back down, the stairway curtain’s back up, it’s very quiet around here and Lloyd and I are quietly typing away at our computers. School starts again, and life is back to ‘normal’. Boo. Normal stinks.

As is my custom, a video has been created to commemorate the close of this time. Our thanks to the Royuks who included us in their Christmas celebration, since I’ve become too chicken to travel anywhere in the winter. This video is for you – and to the rest of our audience, did you know that there was a song called “Christmas in Nebraska”? I’m not kidding. Feast your ears!

Good-bye, summer

Well, Brad is gone.  All the carefree fun of summertime took off on that plane with him.  Now comes the hectic beginning of the school year, complete with unfinished projects, home visits, and daily panic.  It’s the worst time of the year.

Last year when Brad left I made a version of Goodnight Moon to document the sorrow.  Maybe I’ll post that tomorrow when I figure out how to use the scanner, but this year we made a movie.  It will only be meaningful if you’ve followed our websites during his visits.  I hope it will bring every single viewer to tears!!  Fetch your Kleenex boxes, folks.  Who am I kidding?  This is only meaningful to me.
